How does one responsibly talk about The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Edition?
If I talk about what it actually is, that’s a spoiler.
If I talk about what it’s about, on a meta level, I have to talk about what it is, which is a spoiler.
If I talk about what is and is not a bucket, that’s a super big spoiler! (Oh gods Penny, stop!)
Ultimately, it is still a game about how you should stop playing the game and go outside. Which means that the underlying reason that I want to talk about it — it’s funny, and I think that you should play it — demonstrates that I actively did not understand what the game was telling me, and I should therefore probably shut up.
But the devs do seem to like praise and sales and good reviews, so it’s not like I understand it less than they do.
Anyway. It’s good. If you play it, I’d love to talk about it. Maybe during a walk. Outside.
